Splicer-1000 “Dagger” Starship Registry

Starship Registry Data

“Every pilot starts out flying the Splicer 1000.  The little craft are so plentiful and forgiving that when they were pulled from frontline service there was no better place for them then as trainers.  Even though most pilots eventually progress beyond the 1000 most still hold a place in their hearts for the craft,” Admiral Jolian Sares.

The first Splicer 1000s came into service shortly after the war between the UCSB and Galactic Federation began.  Originally classified as a superiority fighter, technological advances forced them to be reclassified as light fighters.  In service craft are used primarily for light escort, reconnaissance, and training.  The reconnaissance variant carries advanced sensor systems in place of its weapons as well as enhanced engines and expanded fuel cells.  Splicer 1000 trainers originally featured a second seat for the instructor pilot.  Newer models and those pulled from fleet service to be used as trainers feature the Remote Control Override System (RCOS).  This advancement allows an instructor to take over the craft from a remote position.  The RCOS requires minimal signal latency and strong signal strength, mandating that the control station be relatively close and in safe territory.
