Personality Profile:
Captain Klain Fedler, MGS-9834, UCSB Date: 999.313
All young men have goals. Deniv’s is written across his chest, a set of Confed pilot’s wings tattooed there. Were his goal not so plain I would have forwarded him to the Mapper’s Guild Astrogation Corps an annura ago.
Deniv has a hard time taking much seriously. He finds the humor and light in virtually any situation he comes across, no matter how grim. On deep space explorers that keep crews out for tridecs or even annura at a time this trait can be a godsend. In a high tension environment like the space forces it could equally as helpful to keep crew morale up.
In terms of ability, Deniv is a tremendously skilled technician. We’ve yet to encounter a buoy he could not fix, and his tool rack is the most organized I’ve ever seen, a mirror of his bunk space. He keeps his body as a temple, and has reprogrammed our autocooks to deliver meals that are all but indistinguishable from the real thing. His handling of small craft is equally impressive and he will make a fine fighter pilot or navigator.
As stated previously, had Deniv not applied for the Space Forces Academy I could see him in the astrogation corps, with a possible future as a guild ship captain, once he settles down. In regards to why he is not the head of the buoy boy team, Deniv seems determined to defer decisions others he finds more appropriate as leader. It has cost him at least one promotion. Place him in charge of a group without a natural leader and he will lead, but don’t expect him to readily step into the role.
Addendum: UCSB Date: 1000.024
In the wake of the incident at Garov 18965 I am requesting that the following personnel have their academy applications forwarded to Special Operations Command: Schan Vaughnt, Arion Scotts, Eggedon Bichard, Deniv Prain. This team showed exceptional courage under fire in a situation that they had to training or preparation for, saving all but one member of my crew. I do not blame them for this, but certainly feel that the Mapper’s Guild is not the place for these young men, and that Special Operations Command has the best opportunity to use their skills.
